Description:    Isaac Taylor was born in Nashville, TN. He received his degrees from Saint Louis University, and worked in the office of George I. Barnett. He served as Architect-in-chief for the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition. He is best known for his work on the Jefferson memorial in Forest Park and the Third Baptist Church, which remains a landmark at the corner of Grand and Washington Avenues. The church was built in 1885 at a cost of $75,000.
