Description:    Ernst C. Janssen studied architecture at the Polytechnesche Schule in Karlesruhe, Germany, (1877-78,) Coming to the United States, he formed a partnership with Otto Wilhelmi which dissolved in 1881. He worked independently until the 1920´s when he joined his nephew Oscar Jannsen along with Jesse McFarland. Ernst Janssen designed the Roman "Wading Pool" Pavilion in Tower Grove Park, the Charles Stockstrom House at 3400 Russell Blvd (1907), and at least fourteen houses in the Compton Heights neighborhood.
