Name:    Bissell, General Daniel
Description:    Daniel Bissell served as commandant of Fort Bellefontaine during the War of 1812. His family became established in St. Louis for many years. The Bissell Mansion, located on a bluff known as Bissell’s Point overlooking the Mississippi in North St. Louis, served as a marker for riverboat pilots.
