Name:    Hunt, Ann Lucas

Description:    Ann Lucas Hunt was a wealthy St. Louisan known for giving much of her inheritance to Roman Catholic institutions in St. Louis. In 1842, Hunt´s father and second husband both died, making her a rich woman. She managed her portion of the family inheritance, made shrewd investments, and gave away more than one million dollars in money and real estate. She donated half the site of St. Mary of Victories.
