Name:    Rumbold, Charlotte
Born/Started:    1869
Description:    Charlotte Rumbold worked as a professional social worker and manager of the St. Louis School of Housekeeping on North Grand. She was instrumental in developing recreation facilities and public bathhouses for the poor. In 1907, she became the first secretary of the Public Recreation Commission, a division of the Parks Department. She focused attention on the living conditions of the poor and was an advocate for health and recreation services.
