I want a choice in internet other than Charter or AT&T. I also would like the speed of fiber at a reasonable rate. Please give us fiber in STL!

Apr 16, 2011
We need more High Speed options.

Mar 31, 2011
I use Google for everything! It would mean that I have a reliable internet connection at home. I need that!

Mar 21, 2011
Currently, we have DSL service. However, we are the maximum distance allowable from the closest dsl station. Therefore, our DSL can get very slow and can even fail at times. It would be nice to have a super fast connection and be able to transfer large amounts of data in a small period of time. We spend a large portion of our day uploading photos and files to the internet and emailing these files to people we work with. A large portion of that time is spent just waiting for these files to upload! Our office would benefit greatly by the added time we would have not having to wait for files to upload!

faster service would be great! it's about time St. Louis caught up with the rest of cyberspace!

Apr 26, 2010
Currently where I live now I can only turn to either AT&T or Charter for internet. Charter is a pretty good provider but not nearly fast enough, and AT&T is absolutely terrible in my area. Charter's connection was 10x faster than AT&Ts current offer, but its still not nearly fast enough

Apr 26, 2010

Apr 22, 2010
DO IT!

Apr 22, 2010
St. Louis is already using the internet as a tool for improving our city. Higher speeds means faster communication, which leads to faster response on city issues from infrastructure to gov't policy.

Apr 21, 2010
Bring Google Fiber to St. Louis would show what advances in technologly can do in a city that is transitioning from an industrial economy into a post-industrial, technologically capable, center of e-commerce.

Apr 20, 2010
The high speed of such fiber optic connections would be beneficial to the numerous hospitals around the St. Louis area.

Apr 19, 2010
St. Louis is a large city, but by no means does it rival other large metropolis regions like Chicago or New York. This would help put us back on the map.

Apr 16, 2010
This would greatly help expand my small business!

Apr 14, 2010
This will only help to put St. Louis' current resurgence more on track.

Apr 10, 2010
100 years ago, St. Louis was a global center for learning about the future during the World's Fair. In modern times, St. Louis has proven to be a center for small business and a launchpad for innovators. The applications of ultra-high speed Internet could be diverse and amazing. It would be a perfect city for Google Fiber! (Just be sure to include Chesterfield, St. Charles and the Metro East, since they're all part of St. Louis as well!)

Apr 09, 2010

Apr 07, 2010
Having something like this in St. Louis would help my small business tremendously with file transfers. No more waiting 2 hours to upload to ftp with ATT or cable would be a dream and help to get more accomplished. And getting more accomplished hopefully creates more areas for employment growth, which is never a bad thing... especially now.

Apr 05, 2010
Google, St. Louis is perfect for google fiber because it is an equal distance from almost everywhere, and nothing will happen to your servers because there are no natureal disasters here! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring your service to St. Louis. All of the local Internet providers are incredibly slow and we need something new.

Apr 05, 2010
Google Fiber would increase my ability to work faster and more efficiently from home when needed for my full time job with the St. Louis Public Schools, for course work to further my education, and in increasing my income with part time, work from home positions.

Mar 30, 2010
STL NEEDS IT!

Mar 30, 2010
Why STL needs accessible internet like Google Fiber? Simply look to see where the "pins" are placed on this map. The poorest areas in STL are generally north of Delmar Blvd. There are almost none placed. The pins are placed by users residing in wealthier or "yuppier" areas. If we can give this disadvantaged segment of the population access to basic services like the internet, STL would be much better as a region.

Mar 30, 2010
You know you wanna do it so don't resist it :)

Mar 30, 2010
Google Fiber would help bring new technology to the City of St. Louis

Mar 29, 2010
I would be a candidate to try out the high speed Google. I work at Boeing on Fighter Jets -- a high tech defense contractor and the biggest employer in St. Louis. St. Louis has a diverse mix of companies that could use ultra high speed internet -- Scottrade, Edward Jones, Wells Fargo brokers, Panera, Enterprise Car Rental which also owns National and Alamo, Anheisur Busch, AT&T, MasterCard, Centene, Express Scripts and many more.

With the economic conditions tight in St. Louis, many, like me, are making a living working from home. St. Louis would be a great city to demonstrate the potential impacts of Google Fiber on a local ecnomy. This will help move forward our entrepreneurial sprit and help small business owners like me be more competitive in the global market. I encourage you to strongly consider St. Louis as the new home for Google Fiber!

Mar 25, 2010
High-quality broadband networks will enable people to communicate more efficiently, and most importantly, if the quality of networks increases in city and suburban areas, it will motivate government and big corporations to invest better internet service in those people who live in rural areas, an absolute (and overdue) necessity!

Mar 25, 2010
I run my own business (Wyrick Consulting) doing on-site PC service and support work. This often involves a need to download rather large driver disks, firmware upgrades, and so forth, to bring to a client on short notice. Therefore, I have a very real business justification for the fastest Internet connection I can get to my home. (I run this from my home.)

Mar 24, 2010
please

Mar 24, 2010
St. Louis houses six influential universities, and college students are the up and coming business leaders on the web.

Mar 18, 2010
St Louis really is the ideal place to deploy Google Fiber. A robust, rebounding urban core surrounded by a vast suburban community. Start from the city center, where an entirely manageably-sized population will access Google Fiber along with an underprivileged population who can utilize this high-speed internet access to help close the information gap. Surely such infrastructure investment would help the city become even more of a draw, and other agencies would surely piggyback to help serve the community's digital needs by providing netbooks and other inexpensive computer services to a community that is partially underserved. There are a million reasons why St. Louis would be an ideal location; mostly though, it would be mutually beneficial for the community and for Google.
