History:
The Missouri Hotel opened in 1819, as St. Louis' first hotel. It was a large four-bay, limestone rubble building with multi-pane, double-hung windows. The double doors at the side entrance were topped by a large fanlight transom. Among the important events which were held in the hotel, was the meeting of the First General Assembly of Missouri in the 1820's.
