History:
Dr. Joseph Erlanger was Chairman of the Department of Physiology at Washington University. In 1944, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine. Dr. Erlanger resided in this house, constructed by the Fair Company in 1904, for 48 years. It was made a National Historic Landmark for its association with Dr. Erlanger in 1976. [p. 64]
