History:
Police Headquarters was just one of the many public buildings built in the large scale renewal during the 1920s and 1930s as a result of the 1923 bond issue. The building is surrounded by a number of public buildings, including the City Morgue, City Garage, Police Gymnasium, City Hall and the Municipal Courts Building. Most of these structures follow a common theme.
