Description:    The architectural firm, Rudell & Odenthal, of Cologne, Germany collaborated with parish rector, Rev. Peter Wigger, and St. Louis architect/sculptor Joseph Conradi in the design of the Gothic style Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church (1907). Carl Rudell’s prominent reputation for his approximately 80 German churches made his firm an excellent choice to design a new church for a German parish in St. Louis.
