Description:    Hiram Leffingwell was instrumental in the conception and development of Forest Park. He first proposed a park containing about 3,000 acres in the same general area as Forest Park is today, but finally settled on the present boundaries of the park. Each year the Women’s Committee of Forest Park Forever hosts a luncheon in honor of Leffingwell to honor individuals and corporations that have made significant contributions to the restoration of the Park.
