Description:    John Cardinal Glennon served as archbishop of St. Louis from 1903 until his death in 1946. Born in Kinnegard, County Meath, Ireland, he was ordained in 1884 in Dublin, and then moved to Kansas City. He was appointed as Archbishop of St. Louis on October 13, 1903 and appointed as a Cardinal on February 18, 1946. Less than a month being named Cardinal, he died in Ireland. He is buried in the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis.
