Mrs. Aloe first became acquainted with the work of the Swedish sculptor at an exhibition of art sponsored by the St. Louis League of Women Voters. She led efforts to commission a fountain in Aloe Plaza, and contributed $12,500 to the project. Her daughter, Isabel, and son-in-law, Howard F. Baer, donated $7,500. |
