Description:    Born in St. Louis, Wischmeyer graduated from Washington University School of Architecture, earning a masterĀ“s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In 1938, he and a colleague, Joseph D. Murphy, submitted the winning design for the Municipal Theatre in Forest Park (known as the Muny). He formed the Wischmeyer Architect Inc. in 1951, specialized in health care architecture, and other designs included residences, churches, commercial buildings, schools and country clubs.
