He received his bachelor of architecture from the Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1936, and a master in architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1939. He was a professor at Washington University of St. Louis from 1942 to 1951, where he gave lectures on hospital planning and construction. He and his partner, Joseph D. Murphy, received high honors for their design for the Climatron, a showcase of tropical plant life in Missouri Botanical Garden, Other buildings with which he is affiliated are the Bishop DuBourg High School, Church of the Resurrection, and Washington University Medical Center. |
