Name:    Sayers Printing Company
Profession:  Merchant
Born/Started:    1912
Description:    Sayers Printing Company was originally founded by Frank W. Sayers in 1912 to print accounting forms. In 1928, his son, Herbert Sayers, became president and started printing forms for companies like Brown Shoe Company, Pet Incorporated, and Monsanto. In 1952 it moved from its location on the St. Louis riverfront to 9600 Manchester.

Hallmark has designated the company as its first certified quality vendor. This allows Sayers Printing to distribute products directly to Hallmark stores. The company has sales offices in Charlotte, New York, San Francisco, Detroit in addition to St. Louis. Its current president is the fourth generation of Sayers, Herbert M. Sayers Jr.

In the 1990s, Sayers ranked 98th in sales volume out of more than 54,000 printers in the U.S. industry. [St. Louis-Home on the River, p. 280]
