Detailed Description:
KSDK was started in 1947 by Joseph Pulitzer II. The television station, originally named KSD, was the first in St. Louis and one of only seven in the country. It started with a program called "News and views", a 90-minute variety program and became known for shows like "St. Louis Hop." The station continued to expand its programming and news became a priority in the 1960s. The station developed an excellent reputation, and in 1983, was sold to Multimedia, Inc. The stationĀ“s name was then changed to KSDK-TV. KSDK is actively involved in the community, linking volunteers and organizations through its Volunteer 5 program.
