Description:    Peter Simpson was a St. Louis author who ghost-wrote speeches for politicians and served as a St. Louis alderman himself from 1963-1967. He also wrote a sports column for the St. Louis Sentinel and wrote reviews for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He published a book in 1987 entitled Press Box and City Room: Columns, which were collections of some of his columns. He also wrote two books of poems, which reflected his Catholic upbringing, Keeping Open and Stealing Home .
