Description:    Thomas Turpin owned the Rosebud Café at 2220-22 Market Street. He was a composer and source of inspiration for a generation of ragtimers in the St. Louis area. Turpin´s "Harlem Rag," published in 1897 was one of the earliest rags written for the piano.
