Description:    Oliver Nelson was born in St. Louis, graduated from Sumner High School and attended Washington and Lincoln Universities. He wrote scores for film sound-tracks, including the score for “A Walk on the Wild Side,” and also wrote scores for television series including “Ironsides,” “It Takes a Thief,” and “The Six Million Dollar Man.” Nelson also played in the big band era with Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and many others.
