Description:    Jet Banks was a Lincoln University graduate and a St. Louis businessman. He served four terms in the Missouri House (1969 to 1976) before being elected to the Missouri Senate in 1976. He represented the 5th district of St. Louis in the senate from 1977 to 1992. Banks served as the stateĀ“s first black Senate Majority Floor Leader in the late 1980s.
