Description:    Bob Costas came to St. Louis in 1974 as a novice sports broadcaster and went on to become a "superstar" at KMOX radio and a national media celebrity who has broadcast many major sporting events, including the Olympics.

Mr. Costas arrived in St. Louis to announce St. Louis Spirits´ basketball games. His skills, enhanced by his intelligence and humor, fueled a meteoric rise to his career and led to a longtime union with NBC-TV, where he has anchored the Olympics, as well as football, basketball and baseball. Mr. Costas has repeatedly won the major sportscasting awards and proven his versatility with his acclaimed TV interview show, "Later."
