Event: Busch Memorial Stadium dedicated Category: Planning and Development Brief Description: Six years after the LCRA redevelopment plan was approved, this 53,000-seat stadium was dedicated in May 1966. The stadium was completed at an approximate cost of $27.8 million. Two-thirds of the total cost was privately financed, including $5 million from the Cardinals´ owners, Anheuser-Busch. Busch Stadium was designed by Edward Durell Stone. The stadium features 96 miniature versions of the Gateway Arch in its design.
