Brief Description:  Plans were approved in 1962 by the LCRA Commissioners for an initial survey and planning for Grandel Square, a 6.7-acre area just west of Downtown. Authorization was given for the filing of application for funds, which was carried out in 1963. An application was also filed for a survey and planning contract for the West End Project. An application was filed in 1966 for the redevelopment of Grandel Square. The Urban Renewal Program funds were approved and, in 1967, redevelopment of Grandel Square began.
