  St. Louis Cardinals Are Sold to Busch
Brief Description:  In late 1952, Cardinals owner Fred Saigh appeared ready to sell the franchise to out-of-town interests who were prepared to relocate it to another city. At the last minute, Anheuser-Busch, Inc., led by President August A. Busch Jr., stepped in and purchased the club. The sale was announced on February 20, 1953.
