  St. Louis Labor and Trades Assembly Union Formed
Brief Description:  Two organizations that had started several years earlier -- the St. Louis Trades Assembly and the Central Labor Union -- combined to form the St. Louis Labor and Trades Assembly in 1887. The American Federation of Labor granted the organization a charter in September 1887.
