Brief Description:  The City´s population in 1920 was 772,897. The population growth was slowing down. During the 1920´s it increased by only 6.3 percent, totalling 821,960 by the end of the decade. That dropped St. Louis from the sixth-largest city in the nation to the seventh-largest.
