  Treaty signed with 19 Native American Nations
Brief Description:  The chiefs of various warring tribes met at Portage des Sioux with General Rogers Clark, Auguste Chouteau and Ninian Edwards. As United States commissioners, the three signed a treaty with 19 Native American Nations, ending a long period of conflict and unease in the frontier town.
