Brief Description:  In December 1933, Mayor Bernard Dickmann called a group of businessmen together to start plans for the Riverfront Rehabilitation and Memorial Project. The Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Association was formed, which immediately began a campaign to make it a national effort.
