  Temporary City Hall Constructed
Brief Description:  A temporary city hall was constructed on 11th street between Market and Chestnut Streets in 1872. The location of the building symbolized the westward movement of downtown activities. The brick structure was used for over 20 years, until a new city hall was built on 12th Street.
