Event:  Secession Convention Meets

Brief Description:  Missouri Governor Jackson called for a convention to meet in Jefferson City to consider Missouri´s secession from the Union. The convention moved to St. Louis in March 1861, where it met at the Mercantile Library. The convention rejected seceding from the United States.
