  St. Louis University Opens New Campus

Brief Description:  Saint Louis University opened its English gothic-style hall at Grand and Lindell Boulevards in 1888. The building was designed by Thomas Walsh and housed the entire school. Saint Louis University was the first university west of the Mississippi, first founded in 1818 at its original campus downtown at 9th and Washington.
