Event:  Ground Broken for Convention Center with LCRA Aid
Category:  Planning and Development
Brief Description:  Ground was broken on April 9, 1974 to begin construction of the conevetion center on the near north side of Downtown St. Louis within the DeSoto -Carr Urban Renewal Area. On November 27, 1973 the LCRA Board of Commissioners had passed a resolution authorizing participation in the construction cost of the center up to an amount of $6,226,120.
