Event:  NDP Funding for DeSoto-Carr and Other Projects
Category:  Planning and Development
Brief Description:  In addition to a number of urban renewal programs already underway, application was made in 1969 for Neighborhood Development Program funding for the DeSoto-Carr, Mill Creek North and the LaSalle Park projects. In 1970, 31 acres of the 370-acre DeSoto-Carr Urban Renewal Area were funded under the Neighborhood Development Program, with planned land reuse. A second area of the DeSoto-Carr Project, covering 17.75 acres, received NDP funding in 1971. The area from 7th to 9th Sts. and from Delmar to Cole, became the site of St. Louis´ convention center.
