Event:  West End Rehab Begins
Category:  Planning and Development
Brief Description:  The West End Urban Renewal Area was declared blighted in 1962 and recommendations were made for rehabilitation and redevelopment of the area. In May 1965, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development approved LCRA´s application for loan and grant funds for the West End. Work began in the area ilater that year.
