Event: 1940 All -Star Game hosted in St. Louis
Brief Description: Having installed lights for nighttime baseball earlier that year, St. Louis was selected to host the 1940 Major League Baseball All-Star game. The game was held at Sportsman´s Park on July 9th. A sellout crowd of 32,373 saw the National League win, 4-0.
