  Segregation Initiative is Passed
Brief Description:  In 1916, a group of neighborhood associations and Realtors in St. Louis led an initiative for mandatory racial segregation on a block by block basis. Voters in a 3 to 1 margin overwhelmingly agreed to the idea by a three ot one margin. The Supreme Court, however, ruled the initiative unconstitutional.
