Event:  Grand Avenue laid out by Hiram Leffingwell
Brief Description:  Grand Avenue was laid out in 1854 by Hiram Leffingwell. He originally proposed eight lanes to accommodate the phenomenal City growth he expected. The City Counsel reduced it to four lanes.
