  Fence Built around Lafayette Park

Brief Description:  The cast iron fence that still surrounds Lafayette Park was erected in 1869. The park, the City´s first, was orginally established in 1836. The iron fence survived the devastating tornado of 1896 that destroyed many of the homes in the surrounding neighborhood.
