Event: Henry Shaw dies Category: Cultural Life Brief Description: Henry Shaw was one of the wealthiest people in St. Louis during the 19th century. Upon his retirement, he used his time to develop a botanical garden in St. Louis modeled after the world-famous Kew Garden in England. He also donated Tower Grove Park to the city.
